The former Annette Island Army Air Field, near Metlakatla, 熊猫在线视频, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its contribution to the success of World War II allied operations. One of the few remaining World War II structures at the site is a boiler house, which was scheduled to be dismantled as part of the Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program (NALEMP). Because of its historical significance, a team of historians employed by AERC thoroughly documented the structure鈥檚 physical characteristics and history before demolition and remediation were performed at the site.

Project goals: Research and compile historical information about occupancy and uses of the boiler house, document architectural and mechanical features of the building and its equipment, and photograph interior and exterior of the building prior to dismantling.
