Creative Writing Department Announces New Format for MFA
by Kathleen McCoy |
The highly successful Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at the University of 熊猫在线视频 Anchorage has deepened its mission and broadened its appeal through a new low-residency mode of delivery.
The revised program, to begin Summer 2008, offers graduate writers a large, talented faculty of notable writers and teachers from 熊猫在线视频 and around the country, without having to uproot their families and leave jobs and homes. It is the first time low-residency creative-writing instruction has been offered in 熊猫在线视频.
Creative Writing students will join the MFA program from throughout 熊猫在线视频 as well as from outside the state. Within each genre (fiction, poetry, literary nonfiction), the program will accept between five and seven students of demonstrated potential or accomplishment for the first year, while continuing to build until the third year. It is anticipated that, starting with the 2010-2011 academic year, total program enrollment will be about 45-50 in any one year.
Applications and additional material about the program are available online at . The postmark MFA application deadline is Feb. 15, 2008.
