by Michelle Saport |
Tuesday, April 2, 9-11 a.m.
Administration/Humanities Building, Room 204
The Dean of Students Office is sponsoring the webinar "Getting to Know the Campus
SaVE Act--A Rapid Response Webinar on the VAWA Reauthorization."
Congress reauthorized a robust, expanded and much strengthened version of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in late February. The reauthorized legislation includes extensive new statutory requirements regarding campus safety, training, crime reporting and prevention. Included in the VAWA Reauthorization legislation is the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE Act), whose Section 304 substantially amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to impose 70 new provisions, disclosures and procedural protections.
Webinar description:
Join the experts from the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management (NCHERM)
Group, School and College Organization for Prevention Educators (SCOPE) and Association
for Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) for an in-depth look and tutorial on what compliance
looks like and what your campus will need to do to comply. The presentation will dissect
the campus-related VAWA requirements by focusing on the Act's four key areas: reporting,
policy, prevention/training and victim services. The webinar will also include Q-and-A
with the presenters.
This webinar is intended for the dean of students, victim services coordinators, campus police/public safety officers, title ix administrators, student conduct administrators, legal counsel, women's center staff, risk managers, human resources staff and university compliance administrators.
