UAF Cooperative Extension Service offers 'Stream or Stitch' classes for children and families, July 10-Aug. 14

Wednesdays, July 10-Aug. 14, 4-5:30 p.m. Anchorage Cooperative Extension Service (1675 C Street, Suite 100)

Join the UAF Cooperative Extension Service (CES) for outdoor stream exploration or indoor sewing projects this summer. Every Wednesday through Aug. 14, CES will offer outdoor and indoor classes geared toward ages 10 and up, although families and young children are welcome to attend. Participant space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Session schedule: July 10: "Tracking 熊猫在线视频 Animals" or make a T-shirt backpack or tote bag July 17: "Insect Safari" or make an infinity scarf July 24: "Exploring Invasives: Worms, Native and Invasive Plants" or make a pillowcase July 31: "FBI Plant Detectives" or quilting Aug. 7: "Stream Detective Critter Catch" or quilting Aug. 14: "Tree CSI: Investigating Tree Health" or quilting

The outdoor sessions will explore Chester Creek through Valley of the Moon Park. Wear weather-and-creek-appropriate clothing and footwear.

A project supply list for the indoor sessions will be provided at registration. Some sewing machines and tools will be available. Novice sewers should bring a teen or adult helper along. Some sewing experience is recommended for the quilting sessions.

The sessions are $5 per participating child and free for adults, young children and 4-H members. You have the option to enroll in 4-H prior to your first session. 4-H membership fees are $6 for the program year.
