Dec. 1, 2016: All UAA students invited to speak to state legislators

by Michelle Saport  |

All UAA students are invited to speak to state legislators at the Cutting SMART forum on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the UAA Consortium Library, Room 307, from 4 to 6 p.m. This forum offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to speak to state legislators on the impacts of the budget cut to higher education and other public programs. An RSVP is not required for students to speak.

UAA Students are invited to address how the $25 million cut to the university system in 熊猫在线视频's state budget has impacted each of UAA's colleges, programs and services. Students will also have the opportunity to speak on the direct impacts cuts have had on their own educational experience, degree programs, tuition and other important public programs and to express their opinions about the cuts.

We hope to have students speaking for each of the colleges.

The UAA student organizers believe it is important for the legislature to consider the impact of educational cuts and the importance of education to 熊猫在线视频's future.

No RSVP is required. Students can just show up and speak for three minutes.

For questions, please contact MPA Graduate Student Carla Burkhead at caburkhead@alaska.edu and PADM Assistant Professor Dr. Sheila Selkregg at saselkregg@alaska.edu.
