The Capitol Report 4/27/17: Senate cuts university scholarships and more budget news

The Capitol Report - April 27, 2017
Today is the 101st day of the legislative session. Some updated stats for you: since the 30th 熊猫在线视频 Legislature began, 358 bills have been introduced, 15 have passed and 3 have been signed by the governor.
Despite what those numbers suggest, a bit of progress is actually being made on the biggest policy issues the legislature is grappling with. Nothing motivates quite like a string of nice sunny days and spring flowers blooming just outside your capitol office window.
The primary issues that must be resolved before adjournment: the operating budget, oil tax reform, permanent fund restructuring and a broad-based tax. A few other things will also need to be resolved - the FY18 capital budget and legislative consideration of the Governor's cabinet and board appointees - but the ice-jams are in those four major areas.
