The will present its final two shows of the year this Friday, and we have something great scheduled! Friday is not only the day of the Winter Solstice, but it is also the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission. We plan to celebrate both with Dawn of the Space Age at 6:30 p.m. and Tilted Solstice at 8 p.m. Learn more about the shows and buy tickets below.

Friday, Dec. 21, 6:30 p.m. UAA Planetarium & Visualization Theater

Relive the excitement of the early days of space exploration, from the launch of the first artificial satellite to the magnificent lunar landings and privately operated space flights. Be immersed and overwhelmed with this most accurate historic reconstruction of man's first steps into space. Who were these men and women who took part in these death-defying endeavors? Witness their drive, their passion and their perseverance to explore in Dawn of the Space Age.

Friday, Dec. 21, 8 p.m. UAA Planetarium & Visualization Theater

A live presentation on the winter or summer solstice and our tilted little world. This show will go over the history, mythology and astronomy behind the shortest or longest day of the year.

The planetarium will start next year with a bang! We are kicking off our Spring 2019 schedule with a brand new show and a huge celebration for our 10-year anniversary. More details will be announced in January.
