UAA Homecoming, happening Oct. 7-11, features a variety of fun-filled activities designed to unite the campus and grow university pride. This year's Homecoming will have something for everyone. Events include:
Homecoming Spirit Competition
All recognized student organizations, clubs, residence halls, and sports teams are
encouraged to participate in this year's Homecoming Spirit Competition. Participants
can win up to $800 in cash prizes for your organization accounts. Learn more and sign

Homecoming Office Decoration
Staff and faculty, sign up your department to compete the UAA Office Decoration Competition.
This year's Homecoming theme is "INTO THE FUTURE," so turn your office into a portal
into the next millennium! Gather your creative team to plan ideas because decorating
will begin on Monday, Sept. 30 and close on Friday, Oct. 4. Judging will begin the
following Monday, Oct. 7. View the for more details.
Homecoming Canned Food Drive Oct. 7-10 | Student Union Den
The Daily Den will be accepting canned food donations throughout the week of Homecoming.
These canned food items will be donated to the Daily Den & UAA's Emergency Food Cache.
Individuals may drop off donations from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Student Union

Student groups can also receive Spirit Points for donations - 1 point for every 5 items donated!
Homecoming Photo Scavenger Hunt Oct. 4, 9 a.m. through Oct. 10, 5 p.m.
Join your friends for the third annual Homecoming Photo Scavenger Hunt. Try to fulfill
strange and wacky requirements like "canoe on dry land" or "sunbathe at midnight."
The Photo Scavenger Hunt is designed so that anyone and everyone can have a good time.
No matter who you are, you'll find something on the list that makes you smile. You
may even find some stuff that horrifies you! All in all though, this should be a fun

Shopping Cart Parade Parade decoration begins Friday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. and continues until the Parade. Parade begins Thursday, Oct. 10, 1 p.m. in the Student Union
A time-honored tradition, UAA's Shopping Cart Parade has showcased carts built like anything
from airplanes, board games, and tanks. Come check out these paragons of creativity
and innovation created by students and staff alike!
Are you interested in creating a shopping cart parade float? UAA departments may sign up and get more information about rules and logistics at . Student groups can also participate to receive Spirit Points for the week-long Homecoming Spirit Competition, or just sign up for fun! Decoration will begin Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. and be available until Oct. 10 when the parade begins!
UAA Esports Lounge Official Opening & Ribbon-Cutting Oct. 7 | 10:30 a.m. | UAA Esports Lounge (Student Union)
Join Student Life and Leadership, the Esports Club and Chancellor Sandeen for the
official opening and ribbon-cutting of the UAA Esports Lounge located in the Student
Union. The UAA Esports Lounge is an on-campus facility that hosts gaming PCs, a variety
of consoles, and space for tabletop gaming. The lounge is open for students and community
members to practice, compete, and play recreationally.
Minute To Win It Gameshow Oct. 7 | 7 p.m. | Student Union Den
Check out the Minute To Win It Gameshow. Play a series of minute long games with friends
for the chance to win big. All students are welcome to participate. Participating
student groups in the Spirit Competition can also receive Spirit Points for winning

Canoe Battleship Oct. 8 | 2:30 p.m. | Seawolf Sports Complex Pool
Canoe Battleship is one of many mini competitions put on by the University of 熊猫在线视频
in correspondence with Homecoming Week. Student organizations will form teams of a
minimum of three, meet at the indoor pool in Seawolf Sports Complex, and play "battleship"
by trying to sink competitors canoes using buckets and shields. Get more information

NERDOLOGY Trivia Night Oct. 9 | 7 p.m. | Student Union Den
Think you know a lot about a lot? Are you the one who always has the answers to your
friends' questions about pop-culture, video games and comic books? Do you rarely need
to Google stuff? Then put a team together and compete in the infectiously fun game
show, Nerdology! This program is an interactive pop-culture trivia show. A mixture
of awesome games with fun audience interactions and nerdtastic trivia. Play! Win prizes!
Test your knowledge! Sign up with your Homecoming Spirit Team or a team of friends
at for tons of cool prizes!
A Cappella Festivella Oct. 10 | 7:30 p.m. | Wendy Williamson Auditorium
UAA Concert Board is proud to announce the 26th A Cappella Festivella. A fun-filled
night of music made only by the human voice. This year's show features all local performers
including UAA Glee Club and Pipeline Vocal Project. The show is suitable for the whole
family. Tickets are available at or the Student Union Info Desk.
Homecoming Dance Oct. 11 | 9 p.m. | Dena'ina Center
USUAA will be hosting their annual Homecoming Dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Dena'ina
Center in downtown Anchorage. It will be a fun evening of dancing and more! Homecoming
Royalty will be crowned at the dance, and the Homecoming Spirit Competition winners
will be presented with their $500 check at this time. Student IDs are required for
UAA students and guests need a valid state ID. Visit for more information!
