UAA to receive $2.1M state funding for College of Health

Dear UAA Community,
Earlier this week, Gov. Dunleavy announced a modest funding increase for the university, and today we鈥檝e received more good news from the governor鈥檚 office. The College of Health will receive $2.1 million from the Governor鈥檚 Emergency Education Relief Fund to increase the school鈥檚 capacity to train registered nurses.
UAA plays a critically important role in educating health and behavioral health professionals for 熊猫在线视频. This investment in recruitment and retention packages provides a mechanism to attract and retain qualified faculty in these essential fields in 熊猫在线视频 now and the future.
Kendra Sticka, UAA鈥檚 associate dean of clinical health sciences, says building a sufficient and stable faculty is essential in tackling the state鈥檚 shortage of nurses, and in developing innovative instructional strategies and providing consistent quality education.
