The College of Health will receive $2.1 million from the Governor鈥檚 Emergency Education Relief Fund to increase the school鈥檚 capacity to train registered nurses.

UAA plays a critically important role in educating health and behavioral health professionals for 熊猫在线视频. This investment in recruitment and retention packages provides a mechanism to attract and retain qualified faculty in these essential fields in 熊猫在线视频 now and the future.

Kendra Sticka, UAA鈥檚 associate dean of clinical health sciences, says building a sufficient and stable faculty is essential in tackling the state鈥檚 shortage of nurses, and in developing innovative instructional strategies and providing consistent quality education.

We appreciate that Gov. Dunleavy understands the value of investing in the UAA community and our academic programs that help meet critical needs in the state.

Sincerely,
Sean Parnell,
UAA Chancellor
