UAA offers dozens of summer camps for younger students

Nearly every college at UAA offers some type of summer camp for younger students. From engineering and culinary arts to real estate and media, there's a camp for every kid's interest. Take a look at this summer's offerings, organized by college and department.

College of Arts and Sciences

UAA’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) will offer camps throughout the month of June for middle and high school students. Topics range from dance, printmaking and creative writing to psychology. Learn more about CAS summer camps.

College of Business and Public Policy

UAA's College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) will offer summer academies for high school students and 2024 graduates to learn about business in an exciting and interactive way. Topics include leadership, hospitality, accounting and personal finance, supply chain management and entrepreneurship.

College of Engineering

The UAA Summer Engineering Academies are a series of weeklong, hands-on educational day camps in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley throughout the summer for students entering grades 3 through 12. Each academy is designed to encourage interest in and provide exposure to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Learn more about CoEng's summer academies.

College of Health

Rural CTEPS Capstone 

In mid-June, high school students participating in the Rural Health Career and Technical Education Programs of Study (Rural CTEPS) will engage in a one-week capstone that features an Endotracheal Tube intensive and collaboration with the UAA College of Health Simulation Center. Della Keats

Della Keats is a four-week residential program for high school students on the UAA Anchorage campus. Students experience university residential life, complete health science-related pre-college coursework, conduct health-related research projects and complete at least four different medical or health care professional job shadows. The program, administered by the WWAMI School of Medical Education, is returning to campus for the first time since the pandemic. Registration is closed for 2024. Community and Technical College

UAA's Department of Culinary Arts hosts weeklong boot camps for children ages 11 to 17. Topics range from beginning bakery and beginning culinary to food technology and decorative skills. Most of the boot camps are full, but there is an option to purchase a spot on the waitlist list for each camp. Learn more about culinary and baking boot camps.

Athletics

Volleyball

UAA's volleyball team and coaching staff will host camps in July and August for students entering grades 4 through 12 in the fall. Sessions include several all-skills camps, plus a team camp and elite camp.  

Women's Basketball

UAA's women's basketball team and coaching staff will host camps for middle school and high school students in June. Options include elite camp, individual camp and team camp.

Kenai Peninsula College

Kenai Peninsula College will welcome the ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓƵ EXCEL program for middle school and high school students as well as recent graduates to the Kenai River Campus in June. Participants may explore jobs in health care, construction, heavy equipment operating, aviation, culinary arts, maritime and more.
