La Och煤n de Midialis

Midialis is ritual singer steeped in Perico鈥檚 local traditions. She invited me to
see her altar for Och煤n at la Sociedad Africa. She is pictured here holding her Och煤n
doll. In Cuba, dolls are often used to represent deities and are identified by their
attributes, such as colors, accessories, and costumes.
