Graduating Students
Graduation is the act of successfully completing all credit hours and other requirements for a particular academic program. For information on applying for graduation, deadlines, and graduating with honors, visit Graduation & Degree Services.
*Graduates from other University of 熊猫在线视频 campuses wishing to walk at UAA must complete an application for graduation through their respective campus and email uaa_commencement@alaska.edu with their request to participate in UAA's ceremony.
Commencement is an age-old academic tradition where regalia is worn and students are publicly recognized and congratulated for their achievements. It is an opportunity to celebrate student success with friends, family and the community. Be aware that conferring of degrees at the ceremony is provisional, pending verification that all degree requirements have been met.
Fully admitted students who have completed, or are scheduled to complete, their degree requirements in May are considered candidates for graduation and may participate in the May ceremonies. Students who have completed, or are scheduled to complete, their requirements for graduation in August and December are considered candidates for graduation and may participate in the December ceremonies. Students may request to walk early if they are within one semester of completing their degree requirements by sending a request and explanation to uaa_commencement@alaska.edu. *At this time we cannot grant exceptions for summer and fall graduates to delay their participation to the May ceremony.
Hooding is a special ceremony for master's and doctoral degree candidates to receive their graduate hoods. Students cross the stage and are "hooded" by their college dean and the dean of the Graduate School.
