Sondra received her MA in 2016 from the University of 熊猫在线视频, Fairbanks in Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition Teaching. Her project was focused on task-based language teaching which you teach Native language through cultural projects.Biography
Sondra Shaginoff-Stuart is a citizen of the Ahtna Dene and Pyramid Lake Paiute tribes,
belonging to the Taltsiine (water clan) and Kooyooe Tukadu (fish-eaters) clans, respectively.
She currently holds an office at the University of 熊猫在线视频, Anchorage, UAA at the Social
Science Building, SSB 365, as well as at Kenai Peninsula College, KPC at the Walter
Ward Building, WWB 225. Sondra is a wife and mother of three sons and resides at Kahtnu
(Kenai), located 150 miles south of Anchorage.
Sondra has served as a Traditional Council Member of the Chickaloon Village and a
board member of the Benteh/Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center Joint Operating
Board. Additionally, she has worked as the Ahtna Language and Cultural Director and
served as a member of the Ce'yiits Hwnax Life House Community Health Center Advisory
Committee. Currently, she is also a standing committee member of the Kenaitze Indian
Tribe's Education Committee.
Despite being a language learner, Sondra is committed to finding ways to promote the
growth of the Ahtna Dene language in her community and beyond. She hopes to honor
her family and ancestors by sharing her knowledge, especially with younger generations.
