Slideshow: Surgical technology students scrub in for mock surgery

Students in the surgical technology program are mastering their skills from UAA's Surgical Technology program director Nicole Clementi. Clementi says she chose a career in healthcare and more specifically surgical technology because she wanted to be directly involved in patient care where she could have an impact and make a difference in someone鈥檚 life.

"As the program director, I am still able to continue to give back but now I can translate all my skills and knowledge onto the future surgical technologists here at UAA and throughout the state," says Clementi. "The surgical technology program is so much more than showing up and taking classes. It鈥檚 a culture of family, teamwork, commitment, dedication, and a promise that you will be the most prepared and efficient surgical technologist upon completion of the program."
