Other Qualifying Eligibility

There are other criteria that may allow you to qualify to receive 熊猫在线视频 resident tuition at UAA. In these cases, you must submit the University of 熊猫在线视频 Application for Resident Tuition Assessment either by email to uaaresidency@alaska.edu or by mail to:

To qualify for eligibility using the Resident Tuition Assessment, you must select and prove one of the following three options:

• Option A: Proof of Permanent Fund Dividend Eligibility

  Option A: Proof of Permanent Fund Dividend Eligibility

  To qualify under option A:

  1. Your answer to ALL of the following criteria must be yes:
     
     1. You received or were qualified* to receive an 熊猫在线视频 Permanent Fund Dividend by the State of 熊猫在线视频 Permanent Fund Dividend Division within the last 12 months; and 
     2. You can certify that you have been in 熊猫在线视频 for the past 12 months; and 
     3. You declare your intent to remain in 熊猫在线视频 indefinitely.
  2. In the past year, you have NOT:
     1. Been absent from 熊猫在线视频 for an aggregate of more than 90 days other than documented absences due to illness, or attendance at another educational institution while maintaining 熊猫在线视频 residency; or
     2. Acted inconsistently with 熊猫在线视频 residency, such as claiming residency in another state or voting as a resident of another state; or
     3. Registered as a resident in an educational institution in another state; or
     4. Paid tuition at the University of 熊猫在线视频 at the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program rate.
  3. You are a United States citizen or . If you have any questions regarding eligible noncitizen categories, please contact UAA International Student Services.
  4. You must provide documentation of State of 熊猫在线视频 Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) eligibility or receipt.

  *The term 鈥渜ualified鈥� in item 1a above refers to an individual鈥檚 eligibility for the PFD distributed within the last 12 months, even though the PFD may have been garnished or withheld from the recipient. Proof of PFD distribution or eligibility (not just proof of PFD application) is required prior to the published end of the add/drop period for regular semester-length courses for the semester in which residency is sought.

• Option B: Proof of Physical Presence

  Option B: Proof of Physical Presence

  To qualify under option B:

  1. You have been physically present in 熊猫在线视频 for one or more years and provide the following:
     
     1. Documentation that you moved your household goods to 熊猫在线视频 prior to one year ago; or  
     2. Documentation of your lease, rental, or ownership of real property in 熊猫在线视频 for at least the prior year; or 
     3. Documentation of your permanent employment in 熊猫在线视频 for at least the prior year; or  
     4. Other indicia of 熊猫在线视频 residency for the prior year deemed satisfactory by the chief enrollment officer or designee.
  2. In the past year, you have NOT:
     
     1. Been absent from 熊猫在线视频 for an aggregate of more than 90 days, other than documented absences due to illness or attendance at another educational institution while maintaining 熊猫在线视频 residency; or 
     2. Acted inconsistently with 熊猫在线视频 residency, such as claiming residency in another state, obtaining a driver鈥檚 license from another state, or voting as a resident of another state; or
     3. Registered as a resident in an educational institution in another state; or 
     4. Paid tuition at the University of 熊猫在线视频 at the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program rate.
  3. You are a United States citizen or . If you have any questions regarding eligible noncitizen categories, please contact UAA International Student Services.
  4. You may need to submit additional information to support your claim; if so, UAA Enrollment Services will contact you with what additional items to provide.
• Option C: Other Exemptions of Nonresident Surcharge and Criteria

  Option C: Other Exemptions of Nonresident Surcharge and Criteria

  To qualify under option C:

  1. Your answer to ONE of the following criteria must be yes:
     
     1. You are a United States military personnel on active duty, their spouse, or dependent child. 
     2. You are a United States veteran eligible for Veterans Administration education benefit, their spouse, or dependent child.  
     3. You are a member of the National Guard and Reservists, their spouse, or dependent child.
     4. You are the dependent child of an 熊猫在线视频 resident.
     5. You are a student who has graduated from a UA baccalaureate program who has participated in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) and who earned 熊猫在线视频 residency status upon or after completion of a UA undergraduate degree. You must meet 熊猫在线视频 residency requirements with an intention to remain in 熊猫在线视频.
     6. You are a student participating in the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education (WICHE) Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP).  
     7. You are a student from another state or province whose public universities waive nonresident tuition surcharges for 熊猫在线视频 residents as listed in UA Regulation 05.10.050. (You must provide the city name.)
     8. You are a student from a foreign city or province that has established sister city or sister province relationships with the State of 熊猫在线视频, or 熊猫在线视频 municipalities, and that has been approved by the president as listed in UA Regulation 05.10.050. (You must provide the city name.)
     9. You are the spouse or dependent child of a University of 熊猫在线视频 employee in a benefit-eligible position.
     10. You are a student who graduated within the past 12 months from a qualified 熊猫在线视频 high school. To be considered a qualified high school for the purposes of UA residency tuition assessment, a high school must be located in the State of 熊猫在线视频, issue a diploma recognized by the 熊猫在线视频 Department of Education, and:
         
         • be a public high school listed in the current State of 熊猫在线视频 Department of Education directory; or
         • be accredited by Cognia; or
         • be a private school properly registered with the State of 熊猫在线视频 Department of Education.  
     11. You are a student designated by the UA Scholars Program as a UA Scholar within the last 12 months.
     12. You are a student who has served for the preceding two years as a Beneficiary or Account Holder of a 529 plan offered by the Education Trust of 熊猫在线视频. These plans include 熊猫在线视频 529, T. Rowe Price College Savings Plan, and the John Hancock Freedom 529 Plan.
     13. You are the child or lineal descendant of a current 熊猫在线视频 resident as detailed under Come Home to 熊猫在线视频. (You must prove lineal descent from a current 熊猫在线视频 resident through birth certificates or other vital records. You also must move to and reside in 熊猫在线视频, and remain continuously enrolled during your course of study.)
     14. You are a student from the three Freely Associated States, which are the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau.
