Types of Aid
Financial aid is federal, state, UAA, and private funds that help you meet your cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, housing and meal plans, books, and supplies. At UAA, there are three main types of financial aid available to help families afford college:
Scholarships
Scholarships are 鈥渇ree鈥� merit-based and sometimes need-based financial aid that you do not have to pay back. Find out about state and institutional scholarship opportunities.
Loans
Loans are financial aid that you do have to pay back and accrue interest. Learn more about available federal loan programs and private loans.
Many grants and scholarships and loans require you to fill out the FAFSA. To receive and keep your aid, you are responsible to maintain eligibility requirements.
