Mental Health First Aid Trainings (Adult, Youth and Teen)

The 熊猫在线视频 AHEC has certified instructors to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings to your organization. The training can be provided in-person at your site or at one of ours, virtually, or blended. We have options to fit your organization鈥檚 needs!

students smiling while doing an art therapy activityMental Health First Aid is a course that teaches, youth serving adults, teens, & Adults how to help someone who is developing a mental health challenge or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addiction and mental illnesses (). 

Limited grant funding is available for requested MHFA training on a first-come, first-served basis.

Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR/First Aid, & Bloodborne Pathogens

American Heart Association

The 熊猫在线视频 AHEC provides Basic Life Support, Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens trainings. These trainings are delivered in-person or blended (online with an in-person skills check). CPR/AED/First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens training may also be offered virtually. 

Basic Life Support is a certification for healthcare workers that covers how to respond to life threatening conditions and how to perform high quality CPR. Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid covers similar content and is designed for a more general, community-member audience. Bloodborne Pathogens covers the fundamentals of how to use personal protective equipment to limit exposure to potentially infectious bodily fluids such as blood. ()


American Red Cross

The 熊猫在线视频 AHEC has certified instructors who can provide American Red Cross Certified CPR/AED and first aid trainings. These trainings are provided in-person or blended (online with an in-person skills check).

We provide both adult and pediatric CPR/AED/first aid. CPR/AED and first aid may be taught in conjunction or independently of each other. CPR/AED instruction covers proper technique for giving cycles of compressions and breaths with an AED present. First aid includes topics of choking, sudden illness, life threatening bleeding, and injuries and environmental emergencies. ()


Comprehensive Advanced Life Support

healthcare providers practicing medical simulationThe 熊猫在线视频 AHEC has certified instructors to provide Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS), designed to provide physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and paramedics with the opportunity to learn and practice infrequently used lifesaving skills.

The course is offered in-person only and consists of interactive sessions in cardiac, traumatic, pediatric, obstetrical, neonatal and medical advanced life support. Course materials establish the CALS Universal Approach to critically ill or injured patients, which defines how providers evaluate and treat emergency patients.

Wilderness First Aid

The 熊猫在线视频 AHEC provides Wilderness First Aid training certified by the American Red Cross. This training is offered in-person only. Prerequisites for this training include: you must be 14 years of age or older, and you must have a valid CPR/AED certification. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) teaches advanced skills for appropriate emergency response when far from a healthcare provider. Topics addressed include proper assessment techniques, sudden illness, injuries, wound management, and environmental emergencies. ()


MANDT Relational De-Escalation

MANDT Relational De-Escalation training, instructed by the 熊猫在线视频 AHEC, is only offered in person. This training teaches participants how to de-escalate and, if necessary, intervene in potentially hostile interactions. The training spans three chapters: building healthy relationships, building healthy communication, and building healthy conflict resolution. ().
