The Culinary Arts A.A.S. at UAA is a cutting-edge program accredited by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) that introduces you to seasoned professionals, the hottest trends and constantly-evolving curriculum to reflect rapid-fire changes in our industry. Students in this program learn how to write recipes, shop for ingredients, stay within an acceptable food cost percentage and sell final product. Students in the culinary arts program have a unique opportunity to study abroad in
Florence, Italy at the FUA APICIUS: International School of Hospitality. With state-of-the-art
culinary and wine classrooms in breathtaking historic spaces, the program features
hands-on training with top instructors, as well as once-in-a-lifetime field experiences
in Italy.
Upon completion of core and laboratory courses, students may elect to attend a semester abroad to fulfill their elective requirements.

The culinary arts program boasts a 100 percent job placement rate and is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). The following are just a few of the unique opportunities you'll benefit from as you pursue this major:- Study for a semester in Florence, Italy. Work alongside award-winning chefs as you develop your craft and with Italy as your classroom. You will be able to apply credits earned in Florence towards your UAA culinary arts degree.

This two-year associate degree program provides a foundation in culinary arts, with a focus on food preparation, baking skills, cost control, operations and management.
