The University of 熊猫在线视频 Anchorage uses Handshake, a career management platform for recruiting early talent. Create a free employer account on Handshake, where you can advertise open jobs and internships, manage job applications, register for career fairs and other recruiting events, direct message students and alumni, and more!

 

 

Recruiting on Handshake

The 熊猫在线视频 uses Handshake, a career management platform for recruiting early talent. We encourage you to connect with and recruit UAA talent by making an account on , UAA's job board and networking platform. Read on to explore how Handshake and our other programs can support your organization's hiring goals.

  • What is Handshake?

    Handshake is a career management platform for recruiting early talent. On Handshake, you can post jobs and internships for the statewide University of 熊猫在线视频 community. This includes the Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and community campuses. You鈥檒l also be able to register for our career fairs. Our career services office only maintains employer contact lists through Handshake, so signing up helps ensure you'll hear from us about upcoming recruitment opportunities. To get started with a free profile please follow the steps in the following section. 

  • Get started with Handshake

    If your company is brand new to Handshake, follow the steps below.

      2. After completing registration, your request will be reviewed 
      3. Complete your employer profile

     

    Your company may already have a profile, but you will need to create your own user account in order to post jobs and register for events yourself.

      1. with your work email address and create a password
      2. Handshake will suggest your company based on your email domain
      3. Request to join your company
      4. The admin/owner of your company's Handshake account will review your request
      5. If you do not receive a timely response please do not hesitate to contact us at uaa_career@alaska.edu 

     

    If your company already has an account, but you have not connected to the University of 熊猫在线视频, please follow these steps. 
    VIDEO:

      1. On the left side of the navigation toolbar, click 'Schools'
      2. Click 'More Schools on Handshake' to search and request 'University of 熊猫在线视频'
      3. Once received, your request will be reviewed by a career services staff member in 3-5 business days

Recruitment Events

  • Spring Career Fair Week 

    Registration for this event will open in Handshake on December 10, 2024. More information will be added to the website at this time. 

     

    STEM Career Fair | TUESDAY, MARCH 4 | 11 am - 3 pm (AKT)
    This career fair is for students who are seeking careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. All students are welcome to attend, but invitations are specifically being sent to students in STEM majors.

    Business, Health and Liberal Arts Career Fair | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5 | 11 am - 3 pm (AKT)
    This career fair is for students who are seeking careers in arts, history, education, social sciences, business, healthcare, or law. All students are welcome to attend, but invitations are specifically being sent to students in Business, Health, and Liberal Arts majors.

Employer Resources

Utilize the following resources to increase your engagement with UA students and alumni and improve your application pool. Employers who engage in multiple recruitment strategies including in-person tabling and events, social media marketing, and Handshake engagement receive the greatest success in promoting their brand and recruiting UA talent. 

 

Request to table

This semester, Career Services is able to sponsor our employers on a limited basis, free of charge. Please review the following information and submit a request to sign up for tabling opportunities. 

    • Any organization tabling under Career Service's support must be connected with UA on Handshake, our free career platform. 
    • Your first tabling reservation is free.  Your second tabling reservation in a given academic year is $30.  Tabling is limited to two [2] times per employer, per academic year.

We have limited space, but aim to accommodate as many employers as possible. To be included we ask that you email a link to your job posting (must be on Handshake), and any other relevant information or graphics to uaa_career@alaska.edu. 

Sponsor the Seawolf Career Closet

The Seawolf Career Closet provides new and gently used professional attire and hygiene items to UAA students free of charge, to help students access basic needs and remove barriers that may prevent them from presenting the best impression possible at job interviews and career fairs. The Seawolf Career Closet relies on donations. Please consider the following actions to support the closet.

    • The Seawolf Career Closet is accepting donations of modern professional attire (within the last 10 years) and accessories in good, clean condition. Donations are limited to one standard size trash bag per person, per week. If you have a larger donation, please reach out by email to see if we are able to accommodate you at this time.
