Financial Opportunities

The UAA Master of Science in School Psychology - Specialist offers a number of scholarship opportunities as well as Graduate Student Assistantships. Students can apply for more than one scholarship or assistantship. 

School Psychology Scholarship and Graduate Student Assistantship applications are due February 1st.

Project i-SPARRC: Increasing School Psychologists in 熊猫在线视频鈥檚 Rural and Regional Communities

Project i-SPARRC is a $1.3M five-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education aimed to increase the number of school psychologists across the state of 熊猫在线视频 who are prepared to promote high-expectations and outcomes for 熊猫在线视频 school-aged children and youth, with a focus on recruitment and retention of training multilingual school psychologists and those from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds. 

Participation in the program as an i-SPARRC scholar includes:

  • Paid travel to attend the National Association of School Psychologists Annual Convention
  • $750 in textbooks
  • 1 personal iPad
  • 18-month NASP student membership 
  • Up to $20,000 in scholarship funds 
  • Up to $10,000 to support costs to attend summer on-campus intensive

Participation in the program as an i-SPARRC scholar requires an agreement to provide services as a school psychologist for the equivalent of approximately 3-years of service, per federal grant requirements. 

Interested applicants must apply for consideration by February 1st. 


K-12 Mental Health Scholarship

The K-12 Mental Health Scholarship is funded through a federal appropriations grant through the U.S. Department of Education. Scholarship funds range between $1500 - $5000 per year.

The 熊猫在线视频 Mental Health Trust School Psychology Scholarship is funded through a School Psychology grant from the 熊猫在线视频 Mental Health Trust and will be awarded to individuals who show promise and commitment to serving children, youth and families in 熊猫在线视频. Scholarship funds range between $1000 - $2000 per year.


Graduate Student Assistantships

Graduate Student Assistantships (GSA) specific to the school psychology program and externally funded cover up to 9 credits of tuition each semester plus graduate health insurance and require between 15 - 20 hours of work per week. If you are interested in one of these positions be sure to indicate this in your online application AND complete the School Psychology GSA Application (available November 1st).  

  • Project i-SPARRC GSA
    • This position will support the development and implementation of the rural supervision model in collaboration with the School Psychology faculty; assist faculty in development of rural school district partnerships and recruitment of rural scholars; assist faculty in coordination and support for rural school psychology scholars; and general program development assistant to support grant objectives.
    • Benefits: 9 credits of tuition + graduate health insurance
    • Must commit to 10-15 hours/week during academic semester with summer work an option
    • Pay based on current negotiated bargaining agreement (FY25 = $25/hr)
    • Must be located in the state of 熊猫在线视频
  • School Psychology Clinic GSA
    • This position will support the development and implementation of the School Psychology Psychoeducational Clinic. 
    • Benefits: 9 credits of tuition + graduate health insurance
    • Must commit to 10-15 hours/week during academic and 10 hrs/week during summer semester first session
    • Pay based on current negotiated bargaining agreement (FY25 = $25/hr)
  • Anchorage School District GSA (two available)
    • This position is a service position requiring 10 hours per week in the Anchorage School District. Students are placed in a school and support classrooms and provide a variety of students and family support under the supervision of a school psychologist. This is a 2-year position and can coincide with Practicum hours in Year 2. 
    • Benefits: 9 credits of tuition + graduate health insurance
    • Must commit to 10 hours/week during academic semester
    • The GSA commits to an internship in the Anchorage School District pending acceptance into the intern program
    • Pay based on current negotiated bargaining agreement (FY25 = $25/hr)
  • School Psychology Graduate Research Assistant
    • This position is a research assistant position supporting a school psychology faculty member鈥檚 research agenda. 
    • Benefits: 9 credits of tuition + graduate health insurance
