Delegation Authority Intellectual Property Authority and responsibilities relating to intellectual property (inventions, patents,
copyrights, and trademarks) is retained by the . All matters relating to intellectual property should be referred to the Director
of Intellectual Property and Licensing.
Ethics & ConductIn accordance with Board of Regents Regulations, the Directors/President are designated
as representatives of the university to grant approval for the outside activities
of employees under their jurisdiction. The Directors/President must ensure that copies
of the policy, regulation and information relating to ethics and conflict of interest
are prominently posted on appropriate bulletin boards. Substance UseEach campus must periodically publish and distribute to all employees a statement
that the violation of the drug prohibition policy will subject them to appropriate
disciplinary action. The Directors/President are responsible for ensuring that alcohol
and controlled substance tests are required for all employees who are required to
hold a commercial drivers license.
Delegation CriteriaThe Directors/President are responsible for managing their campuses in conformance
with the referenced policies, regulations and codes.
When evaluating the outside activities, the Director/President should consider whether
the outside activities will substantially interfere with the performance of duties
or, if they do interfere, whether it is in the best interest of the university or
contributes to a significant enhancement of the employee professional standing and
competence.
ApplicabilityAll community campuses have the limited delegation authority and responsibility for
human resource issues expressed in this policy unless special limits or requirements
are set by the Vice Chancellor for Administration.
